Final Paint - Leons 215 V8 MGB

The car was painted about 6 years ago. Seemed like a good idea - it was all apart, it would be easy to get into all the nooks can creases. Well, that part of it worked out well, but I didn't realize how much banging around would happen of the years of moving it through a couple garages, fitting the engine, rear end and the rest. So, time for the final paint job. Going with the same base color - it was the darkest black with a touch of gold/silver dust in it. I'm thinking about having a coat of clear with a bit of blue perl, then some clear coats on that to finish it.

Here are a couple shots taken today after I pulled the lights, windshield, molding and other items off. Here's jack putting some primer jackmgbb.JPG (17568 bytes)on some of the dings we put in the trunk. had a couple in the hood - two where the corners of the radiator hit - I certainly looked low enough, and one where the bolt from the air cleaner hit when the engine was revved. Both problems are fixed.

Here's a couple more - prepaint1.JPG (20305 bytes)  prepaint2.JPG (21502 bytes)
Now it's in the paint booth. All the dings are out, Everything that screws off is taken off, the whole body has been roughed up with Scotch pads, then 400 wet.
